Island Baptist Joint Celebration

On Sunday 11th April 2010, congregations and friends from all eight Baptist Churches on the Island, which form the Isle of Wight Baptist Fellowship, joined together at 11.00am in the Medina Theatre for a Joint service of Praise and Celebration.

Children of all ages were very ably catered for, from the very young in the creche, with various activities for the older ones, whilst their parents and friends enjoyed a great time of fellowship together.

A lively time of Praise and Worship was led by 9 musicians and 2 vocalists, giving the congregation, which almost filled the theatre, the opportunity to give voice to some very powerful singing. The Introductions, Scripture readings and the Benediction were officiated by each of the incumbent Pastors. The Guest Speaker, The Revd. Grenville Overton - Senior Regional Minister, Southern Counties Baptist Association - gave the address, the theme of which was "All You Need is Love" based on the Scripture reading from St John's Gospel chapter 21.

After the service there was an opportunity for everyone to get together in the theatre coffee bar to meet up with old friends, and new, for a chat over tea or coffee. It is hoped that this will become a regular event in the future.
